David Tornek, CEO
Over the past 20 years, David Tornek has been responsible for developing, owning and managing an impressive array of dining destinations in Colorado and Florida. As a principal of Century Management Group, Mr. Tornek was known in Colorado for such properties as Diamond Cabaret and Steakhouse, The Alley Cat Night Club, and the Fresh Fish Company, which was named “Best Seafood Restaurant in Colorado” by the Denver Post for six straight years. In 2005, Mr. Tornek sold his interest in Century Management Group to focus his efforts on the South Florida market.
From 2000 to 2008, Mr. Tornek owned and managed Touch Restaurant and Lounge on Lincoln Road, an internationally renowned Miami Beach shopping corridor. Touch successfully integrated Touch Catering and Glatt Kosher Touch Catering, which was engaged for various prestigious social events including 2007 Super Bowl events and the gala for The National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts (NFAA) as well as numerous corporate events for such corporate clients as Citigroup, BMW, Conde Nast Publishers and Cartier.
In September 2008, Mr. Tornek opened a new steakhouse concept, Meat Market, also strategically positioned along Lincoln Road. Meat Market has become an iconic upscale dining destination in the South Beach submarket, with a unique competitive advantage due to its strong local following. Since 2008, Meat Market has expanded to new locations in West Palm Beach, Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Sean Brasel, Executive Chef
Sean Brasel began his career in the culinary world as a sous chef at Cliff Young’s in Denver, taking the helm of the restaurant shortly thereafter. Mr. Brasel soon won a prestigious scholarship to Madeline Kamman’s School for American Chefs in Napa Valley, beating out over 2,000 applicants. Upon graduation, Brasel returned to Denver to start an Italian Concept, a consulting business specializing in restaurant creation, including design, flow and concept. It was during this period in his career that he met David Tornek.
Mr. Brasel and Mr. Tornek first joined resources at the Diamond Cabaret and Steakhouse and the Fresh Fish Company in Denver in 1994. Mr. Brasel’s ambitious contemporary American cuisine and culinary skill won local acclaim for both restaurants.
In 2000 Mr. Brasel and Mr. Tornek relocated to South Florida to open Touch Restaurant and Lounge, a sophisticated new dining concept in Miami Beach. Mr. Brasel’s dedication to using regional ingredients alongside traditional favorites found appeal in the highly selective and competitive South Florida dining market. The combination of striking cuisine with Touch’s unique entertainment concepts cemented Brasel’s reputation as a star chef and South Florida mainstay. Mr. Brasel is currently the Executive Chef at Meat Market where he continues to bring the American steakhouse into the 21st century.
Sebastian Tribout, General Manager & Director of Operations
Sebastian Tribout has worked in restaurant management for the last twelve years, including Planet Hollywood, and Tchoup Chop in Orlando as well as Emeril’s and Meat Market in Miami. Mr. Tribout’s extensive food and wine knowledge and multifaceted management style focused on increased brand visibility have made him an asset to every restaurant with which he has been associated. Active in the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Tribout participates in local events on- and off-site to establish strong local support for the venue. Mr. Tribout is currently the General Manager of the Meat Market Miami location and is working in a partnership role with Mr. Brasel and Mr. Tornek in developing new locations. His primary focus is on providing the best guest experience and working closely with the Chef to exceed the expectations of the South Florida market, both locally and on an international clientele basis. His duties include educating, developing and training the staff to always gain the respect of the consumer and provide flawless execution.
Alex Rudolph- VP of Development, Partner
Alex Rudolph is currently the Vice President of Development for TapCo Restaurant Group, where he focuses on the real estate and business development aspects of the Tap 42 brand expansion. Upon graduating from Babson College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mr. Rudolph developed his knowledge of the restaurant business as a Manager for Hillstone Restaurant Group at their locations in both New York City (Hillstone), and East Hampton (East Hampton Grill). He then returned to South Florida to partner with the Tap 42 team in their quest for expansion.
Blaise & Sean McMackin: VP of Design & VP of Construction, Partners
Blaise and Sean McMackin are the visionaries behind the Tap 42 brand. Their combined eye for architecture and design has proven to be a competitive advantage within the hospitality segment in Fort Lauderdale. The McMackin’s will lead the design and construction phase through completion before handing the reigns over to the Tap 42 operations team.
